Comments.... I have made friends with an assortment of age groups and one of the things that is said every week is, "this is the best £5 we have ever spent". We can do anything; letters, cards, photos, you name it and I am quite sure it is possible. But, the main thing is the friendliness and no one person is ever made to feel inadequate, help is never far away. I brag to people how good it is as I love it but that is my personal view. I have never heard a bad word said about it and that goes a long way for a village project like this, we must be the envy of many. - Ann Duro (not young)
09/05/2003 - MR G Humphrey - Being a person of very high intellect and having a very good sense of humour I joined Infotech because I knew that I still liked the idea of learning, this is a place for learning. Folks of all ages are here and like me enjoying the challenge of learning of being in control of what they want from the opportunities that are available here. The cost is minimal and there is much to be gained by making use of all its capabilities. I do tell many people about my reasons for being here, how much I enjoy all I do and all the friendly folk. I could go on, so its really good. My many thanks to the folk who give their time to the running of Infotech.
09/05/2003 - Laura Watson - I started coming to Infotech about 3 years ago. I had just started having computer lessons at the Town Hall, and never having used a computer or a typewriter before, I hadnt a clue what I was doing. When I came the following week for a lesson I had completely forgotten what I had learned the previous week. I was asked if I would like to join Infotech, and I signed in. This really got me to understand how to use a computer, and I havent looked back since. There is always some one at Infotech to help if you need it. I have also met lots of nice people, and made many friends who enjoy coming here, and like to chat and discuss how they are progressing with subjects such as Family History. There is also the use of a digital camera, and you can make your own personal greeting cards.
May 2003 - Michael Johnson - When I first joined Infotech I was apprehensive about computers but within a short time became comfortable in the use of them. The atmosphere is very friendly and relaxed and if you are unsure about anything there is always some one on hand if assistance is required. Other group members are willing to help out. The cost of using the facilities is very reasonable and there are plenty of computers to use and you will learn how to use all types of computer software. Being disabled I find the access excellent also it helps me to get out of the house twice a week I have also started to enrolling on other types of courses now that I am more confident an capable to use a computer. So JOIN TODAY and HAVE a HAYDAY!
09/05/2003 - Julie Edington - As a fairly new member of Warsop Infotech Group, I must say that the others here have made me very welcome and I have made several new friends. The cost of joining is only £5 for the year and I get access to the Web, I am able to use E-mail and keep up with my keyboard skills. I am trying to research my family tree and although it is slow going I am finally getting there, with a little help from my new friends. The people who come here are from all age groups but we all get along well together. As Ann Duro says, its the best £5 Ive ever spent.
May 2003 - Mrs P M Holland - I had been taken up with reading about Computers before the year 2000; and was quite fascinated with it. After getting to know about the Town Hall and Infotech, I decided to go down and find out about it. I was made very welcome and sat in front of a Computer and saw a game of Solitaire. As I had never even been in front of a Computer before it was somewhat daunting. With a bit of good tutoring from a very friendly Staff I found I was really enjoying it. I have been coming 3 years now and as a Senior Citizen I would say; Come and join this Happy Club, everyone is so helpful and all for £5 a year. Its a wonderful thing for our village.
June 2003 - Fred Thomas - The Drop-in Facility at the Town Hall, Warsop, is a remarkable organisation in the use of Computers. The age range of students is approximately 30 to early 80 years inclusive, seeking information for career reasons or for private enjoyment, which entails the pleasure of `finding out`. I have concentrated on the subject of Family History and discovered information dating to the early 1700`s with indications of earlier to come.. Also a general history of Monmouthshire, and particularly a Database of Enlistment for WW1, as recorded in a mining village. The data came from several sites, particularly The Royal British Legion, and The Commonwealth Grave Commission Other work involves e-mail and Images. The tutorial and help staff are very competent and patient: the equipment is excellent. As for fellow students their warmth of welcome and willingness to help each other is remarkably good.
